Article Categories and Specifications

1. Editorials
Expert opinions on current issues, policy discussions, or emerging trends in geriatric
care.
Word counts up to 2000 word
References: less than 10

2. Original Research Articles
Clinical trials, epidemiological studies, qualitative research, and health systems research focusing on older adults.
Word Count: Up to 3,000 words (excluding abstract, tables, figures, and references).
Structure: Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, References.
Abstract: Structured (Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusions); maximum 250 words.
Figures/Tables: Maximum of 4.
References: Up to 35.

3. Review Articles
Comprehensive overviews of current knowledge on specific topics in geriatrics and gerontology.
Word Count: Up to 3000 words.
Abstract: Unstructured; maximum 250 words.
Figures/Tables: Maximum of 6.
References: Up to 30.
Structure: Flexible, but should provide a comprehensive overview of the topic.

5. Case Reports
Rare presentations of common diseases in the elderly, innovative management approaches, or diagnostic challenges.
Word Count: Up to 1,500 words.
Abstract: Unstructured; maximum 200 words.
Figures/Tables: Maximum of 2.
References: Up to 10.
Structure: Introduction, Case Description, Discussion, Conclusion, References.

6. Letters to the Editor
Commentary on recently published articles or short communications.
Word Count: Up to 400 words.
Abstract: Not required.
Figures/Tables: Not permitted.
References: Optional up to 5.

7. Perspectives
Opinion pieces on current issues, hypotheses, or controversial topics.
Word Count: 1,000-1500 words.
Abstract: Not required.
Figures/Tables: Not permitted.
References: Up to 10.

8. Book Reviews
Critical evaluation of recent books/publications relevant to geriatrics and gerontology.
Word Count: Up to 1,000 words.
Abstract: Not required.
Figures/Tables: Not permitted.
References: Up to 5.
Structure

Preparation of the manuscript

  • Manuscript Format: Microsoft Word document, double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font.
  • Figures and Tables: Include in the appropriate place of the manuscript. In addition submit as separate files; high-resolution images in JPEG or TIFF format.
  • Abbreviations: Use only the standard abbreviations. Avoid using abbreviations in the title and the abstract.
  • Units of measurement: Need to add
  • Author declarations
    Ethical Considerations: For studies involving human participants, include a statement on ethical approval and informed consent. Clinical trial the clinical trials number should be given.
    Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
    Authorship Criteria: As per ICMJE guidelines, authorship should be based on substantial contributions to the work.

    Citation Format:
    Vancouver style (author–number system), as used by CMJ and JCCP. Give the abbreviated name of the journal. Include the DOI of the articles.
    In-text Citations: Indicate references by superscript numbers in the order of
    appearance.
    Reference List: Numbered list at the end of the manuscript, corresponding to intext citations.
